The draft law will soon be sent to the House of Representatives for consideration and the signature of the US President

Ukraine expects to receive an additional $12.3 billion in financial support from the United States. Danylo Hetmantsev, chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on finance, tax and customs policy, reports about it on his Telegram-channel.

“If the budget process in Ukraine is currently on the starting stretch, then in the USA it is on the finish line, because the new financial year starts there on October 1. As agreements on the main US financial document for 2023 have not yet been reached, the Senate has passed a temporary funding bill that will fund the US Government and its programs until December 19,” he said.

According to the voted document, which was supported by 72 senators from the Democratic and Republican parties, Ukraine can count on financial support in the amount of more than $12 billion.

The main items of financial assistance: $3 billion – military aid, $2.8 billion – defense, intelligence and other support, $1.5 billion – replenishment of weapons stocks and equipment provided by the United States and partner countries.

“We hope that in the coming days the draft law will be supported by the House of Representatives and sent to the President of the United States for signature,” sums up Danylo Hetmantsev.

Grants and loans from international partners in August 2022 accounted for 56.3% of the Ukrainian state budget’s financing. In general, in August, the financing of the state budget reached a record 305.6 billion UAH. UAH 172 billion of them are external revenues, and UAH 134 billion are own revenues and resources.

As GMK Center reported earlier, since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion, international partners have provided Ukraine with $17.5 billion in macro-financial assistance. In the coming months, the next tranche of macro-financial assistance from the European Union in the amount of €9 billion is expected.
