Ukraine decreased exports of semi-finished products by 9.5% in 2021

In 2021, Ukrainian iron & steel companies decreased exports of semi-finished products by 9.5% to 6.8 million tons y-o-y. Revenues from exports of semi-finished products grew by 48.8% to $4.1 billion, according to the customs statistics.

In December 2021, Ukrainian producers increased revenues from exports of semi-finished products by 43,8% to $345.4 million y-o-y. In the same period, they exported 577.6 thousand tons of semi-finished products, 1.4% down y-o-y.

The major consumers of Ukrainian semi-finished products are Italy (30.9%), Turkey (12.8%), and the Dominican Republic (8%).

As GMK Center reported earlier, in 2020, volumes of Ukraine’s exports of semi-finished products grew by 6.3% to 7.49 million tons against 2019. Conversely, revenues from exports of semi-finished products fell by 3.8% to $2.75 billion.
