Ukraine cut steel production by 1.4% in 2020

In 2020, Ukrainian steelmakers reduced steel production by 1.4% to 20.549 million tons compared to 2019, according to Ukrmetallurgprom.

According to the recent report of the Association, production of pig iron in 2020 increased by 1.5% to 20.358 million tons compared to 2019, while production of rolled products grew by 0.7% and totaled 18.344 million tons.

As GMK Center reported earlier, in 2019 Ukrainian steelmakers reduced steel production by 1.2% to 20.848 million tons compared to 2018.

Domestic production of rolled products fell by 1.3% to 18.387 million tons. Production of pig iron in 2019 decreased by 2% to 20.064 million tons.
