In January 2021, Ukraine decreased pipes exports by 79.2% to 6.4 thousand tons against January last year. In monetary terms, pipe exports fell by 78.9% to $7.9 million, according to the customs statistics.
The share of other pipes and tubes in Ukraine’s exports was the largest, 3.2 thousand tons worth $4.2 million. Exports of seamless pipes totaled 1.8 thousand tons worth $2.44 million. Exports of pipes and tubes with a diameter of up to 406.9 mm ranked third, 1.1 thousand tons amounting to $908 thousand.
The main export markets for Ukraine-made seamless pipes were Germany, Italy and Turkey. Italy bought more than half of other pipes and tubes with a diameter of up to 406.9 mm, and Poland almost 52% of other pipes and tubes.
As reported earlier, in 2020, Ukraine’s pipes exports decreased by 22% to $521.9 million against 2019. In physical terms, exports dropped by 22.8% to 473.1 thousand tons.
The main producers of pipes in Ukraine are Interpipe NIKO TUBE LLC, Interpipe NTRP, DMZ Kominmet, Ilyich Iron and Steel Works of Mariupol, Interpipe NMPP, Trubostal, Centravis, Dnipropetrovsk Pipe Plant and Slavsant.
