Turkish steel producer Erdemir Group produced 8.1 million tons of steel in 2025, according to the company’s annual report.
Steel production at the Ereğli plant fell by 20.2% year-on-year to 2.6 million tons last year, while production at the Iskenderun plant increased by 3.8% year-on-year to 5.5 million tons.
Capacity utilization for the period decreased compared to 2024, in particular for steel production, from 89% to 85%.
The group’s total sales of flat products amounted to 6.9 million tons last year. The domestic market accounted for 5.4 million tons (-3.6% year-on-year).
Total sales of long products in 2025 decreased by 2.7% year-on-year to 931,000 tons, while domestic sales decreased by 3.6% year-on-year to 908,000 tons.
Last year, the group exported 1.56 million tons of rolled steel, including 1.53 million tons of flat products and 23,000 tons of long products, accounting for 20% of total sales. Flat products were exported to 34 countries, and long products to seven.
It should be recalled that last summer, Erdemir presented an updated sustainable development strategy, according to which it plans to achieve zero carbon emissions by 2050. In 2025, the company planned to invest $825 million in projects aimed at the green transformation of production, modernization of facilities, and development of renewable energy.
