HRC

Deliveries were made to Tunisia, Spain and Italy

Algerian steelmaker Tosyali Algerie, a subsidiary of Turkey’s Tosyal Holding, said it has shipped hot rolled coil (HRC) shipments to Tunisia, Spain and Italy.

“Thanks to our high production capacity and environmentally friendly steel production capabilities, we continue to meet the needs of the domestic market while strengthening our position in international trade,” Tosyal Algerie said.

According to the Arab Iron and Steel Union, citing Ezzy Ramsay, Tosyalı Algerie’s foreign trade director, the Algerian plant exported 30 thousand tons of HRC to Italy worth $16 million.

Ramsay noted that the company aims to enter the European market with these products, which will allow it to reach an export value of about $2 billion within a year.

The exports follow the commissioning of flat-rolled steel production facilities at Tosyali Algerie last year.

In May 2024, Tosyali Algerie commissioned a new flat-rolled steel plant based on an electric arc furnace with an annual capacity of 2.2 million tons, starting with the production of slabs. A cold rolling mill with an annual capacity of 800 thousand tons and a galvanizing line with an annual capacity of 400 thousand tons are expected to be commissioned in 2025.

As GMK Center reported earlier, Tosyalı Holding, one of the world’s leading steel producers, has increased its steelmaking capacity to 15 million tons per year. The growth was made possible by investments in Turkey and abroad.
