In January 2025, the index of construction work performed in Ukraine increased by 6.1% compared to the same month in 2024. At the same time, the index fell by 72% compared to the previous month. This is evidenced by data from the State Statistics Service.
The drivers of growth in the annual comparison are the construction of buildings and non-residential construction, which increased by 12.3% and 22.9%, respectively. Residential construction decreased by 4.2% yoy, and construction of engineering structures – by 0.3% yoy. All types of construction experienced a significant month-on-month decline, in particular:
The share of new construction in the total volume of construction work performed in January 2025 amounted to 48.4%, repairs – 29.2%, reconstruction and technical re-equipment – 22.4%.
The volume of construction work performed during the month in monetary terms amounted to UAH 9.44 billion. In particular, residential buildings accounted for UAH 1.69 billion, non-residential buildings for UAH 3.26 billion, and engineering structures for UAH 4.49 billion.
As GMK Center reported earlier, the volume of construction works in Ukraine last year increased by 15.5% y/y – to UAH 204.7 billion. In terms of individual segments, the increase in construction works last year was as follows residential construction – by 7.6% y/y, to UAH 26.6 billion; non-residential construction – by 26.2% y/y, to UAH 57.7 billion; engineering structures – by 12.5% y/y, to UAH 120.4 billion.
In 2024, the share of new construction in the total volume of construction work was 41.1%, repairs – 32.6%, reconstruction and technical re-equipment – 26.3%.
