The volume of completed construction works in the first half of the year decreased by 2.1 times

In January-June 2022, construction enterprises of Ukraine reduced the volume of completed works by 2.1 times, compared to the same period of 2021. State Statistics Service reports about it.

In June 2022, the indicator fell by 77.8%. At the same time, compared to May, the volume of work increased by 18.5%.

In January-June 2022, the construction of residential buildings fell by 2.1 times compared to the same period last year – to UAH 7.6 billion. The volume of construction of non-residential buildings halved to UAH 9.9 billion. Engineering construction during this period fell by 2.2 times y/y – to UAH 18.3 billion.

The share of new construction in the total volume of completed construction works in January-June 2022 was 43.8%, repairs – 27.4%, reconstruction and technical re-equipment – 28.8%.

As GMK Center reported earlier, in January-September 2021 construction enterprises of Ukraine increased the volume of completed works by 3.2% compared to the same period of 2020. In September 2021, the indicator increased by 3.2%.

The highest growth rates of completed construction works in January-September were observed in Ternopil (54.2%), Cherkasy (32.8%) and Odesa (24%) regions. Chernivtsi (-39.1%), Zakarpattia (-30%) and Kirovohrad (-27.7%) regions showed the greatest decline.
