The volume of completed construction works for 9 months of 2022 decreased by 57% y/y

In January-September 2022, construction enterprises of Ukraine reduced the volume of completed works by 56.7% compared to the same period in 2021 – to UAH 66.34 billion. This is evidenced by State Statistics Service’s data.

In September 2022, the indicator fell by 63.4%% on an annual basis. At the same time, compared to August 2022, the volume of work remained at the same level.

In January-September 2022, the construction of residential buildings fell by 52.8% compared to the same period last year – to UAH 12.96 billion. The volume of construction of non-residential buildings decreased by 52.3% year-on-year – to UAH 17.89 billion. Engineering construction during this period fell by 59.8% y/y – to UAH 35.49 billion.

The share of new construction in the total volume of completed construction works in January-September 2022 was 41%, repairs – 33.4%, reconstruction and technical re-equipment – 25.6%.

As GMK Center reported earlier, in January-September 2021, construction enterprises of Ukraine increased the volume of completed works by 3.2% compared to the same period of 2020. In September 2021, the indicator increased by 3.2%.

The highest growth rates of completed construction works in January-September were observed in Ternopil (54.2%), Cherkasy (32.8%) and Odesa (24%) regions. Chernivtsi (-39.1%), Zakarpattia (-30%) and Kirovohrad (-27.7%) regions showed the greatest decline.
