The United Kingdom will extend anti-dumping duties on welded pipes from Belarus and China

The UK Trade Remedies Authority (TRA) has recommended extending anti-dumping duties on imports of welded pipes and tubes from Belarus and China for another five years. This is stated in a government announcement.

The recommendation is based on an assessment that, should this measure expire, dumping is likely to recur, as is the injury caused to the UK industry.

The TRA recommended maintaining the definitive duty rates at 38.1% for exporters from Belarus and 90.6% for all Chinese exporters.

The anti-dumping measure on welded pipes was the first to be transferred from the EU system to the UK’s domestic trade remedies regime following Brexit.

Welded pipes and tubular products play a vital role in the country’s manufacturing supply chains and are commonly used for heating and water supply systems in the construction industry.

The TRA review was initiated in January of this year based on a complaint filed in October 2025.

As a reminder, the European Commission has launched a review of the validity period of anti-dumping measures on imports of welded pipes and tubes from Belarus, China, and Russia. The investigation was initiated following a complaint filed by an industry association in January. The complaint stated that the removal of existing duties could lead to a resumption of dumping and cause harm to the European industry. A decision is expected within 12–15 months.
