The company has successfully completed an inspection of the unloading process from specialised hopper wagons used for transporting pelletised ore
State Enterprise ‘Pivdennyi International Trade Port’ has successfully passed an inspection of the unloading process from specialised hopper wagons used to transport pelletised ore. This is stated in a press release from the company.
The results of the inspection confirmed that the operational processes fully comply with the established requirements.
Confirmation of the port’s operational readiness has enabled it to expand cooperation with cargo owners and attract additional volumes of ore exports.
As Artem Litvinov, director of the state-owned enterprise, noted, the efficient unloading of specialised rolling stock requires strict adherence to technical parameters at every stage. Passing the inspection successfully demonstrated that the port’s infrastructure and the expertise of its specialists allow for an increase in the handling rate of such cargo and a boost in production figures.
“The enterprise is fully prepared to increase cargo handling volumes. Further realisation of this potential depends on the restoration of rail logistics capabilities, in particular the traction rolling stock, which was damaged as a result of enemy shelling,” the statement notes.
It should be recalled that Ukraine’s seaports handled over 82.2 million tonnes of cargo in 2025. The planned cargo throughput for last year was 86.2 million tonnes; the actual result represents over 95 per cent of the target. The forecast for cargo throughput (81.77 million tonnes) was exceeded by 100.5 per cent. Agricultural produce accounted for more than half (53.7 per cent of the total volume of cargo handled) last year.
