Металлостроительство в Украине
In 2024, there were 50 steel fabrication companies on the Ukrainian market, down 9.1% from 2023. This was stated by Anna Gontarenko, Acting Executive Director of the Ukrainian Steel Construction Center (USCC), at the Metal Expert conference “Ferrous Metallurgy of Ukraine 2025”.
At the same time, more than 70% or 36 steelmaking companies have production capacities of less than 2 thousand tons per year. Compared to 2023, the number of such companies fell by 18.2%. Production capacities of 2-5 thousand tons per year were reported by 9 companies (+28.6% y/y), and more than 5 thousand tons per year by 5 companies (+25% y/y).
In total, Ukrainian companies produced 91 thousand tons of steel structures in 2024, up 15.2% y/y. In 2025, it is planned to produce 102 thousand tons of the corresponding products. Although these volumes are significantly higher compared to 2022, they are still significantly lower than pre-war levels. In particular, in 2019-2021, the figure was 135-154 thousand tons.
The distribution of steel structure production volumes in 2024 by enterprise capacity is as follows: 28 thousand tons – more than 5 thousand tons per year, 27 thousand tons – 2-5 thousand tons per year, 25 thousand tons – less than 2 thousand tons per year.
The volume of construction works in Ukraine in 2024 increased by 15.5% y/y – to UAH 204.7 billion. According to GMK Center, the construction market in dollar terms increased by 14.6% y/y – to $5.1 billion in 2024. However, this is 45.2% lower than in pre-war 2021 ($9.3 billion).
