The reason is the quarantine prevents a further increase in the country’s incidence rate

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has prolonged the adaptive quarantine until the end of 2020, according to a statement by the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal, at a Government meeting on 13 October.

He said this is the most efficient mechanism for preventing the coronavirus spread.

The Cabinet of Ministers has also imposed restrictions on mass gatherings in the ‘green’ and ‘orange’ zones to 20–50 people, subject to maintaining social distance of 1.5 meters and a mask regime. Sporting events are allowed, but with no spectators.

As reported earlier, the Cabinet of Ministers extended the quarantine restrictions until 31 October 2020. At its meeting on 4 May, the Government decided to ease some quarantine restrictions with effect since 11 May.
