Сухая Балка
Sukha Balka Mine, a part of DCH Steel Group, has prepared another block with reserves of over 60 ths tons of ore at Yubileynaya mine for mining. This is stated in the company’s corporate newspaper.
The new block 36+10-40 from the Gnezdo deposit is located on the second sub-floor of the -1420 m horizon. Its preparation for operation was carried out by miners of the No. 19 section, and mining will be provided by miners of the No. 18 section.
According to Nikolay Puntus, Chief Engineer of Yubileynaya Mine, there is a constant shortage of personnel and a lack of labor reserve due to the difficult wartime conditions. To prepare the unit, workers had to be involved from all areas of the mine – cutting and mining.
The new production unit will supply raw materials to the mine for the next 2.5 months. The unit’s reserves amount to 62.1 ths tons with an iron content of 60.37%. Mining will be carried out using the traditional method (scraper winch).
In the fall, Sukha Balka commissioned two blocks with reserves of 170 ths tons. Since the beginning of the year, the company has launched 9 blocks with total reserves of 1 million tons of ore. At the beginning of September, the company commissioned blocks 39-45 at Frunze mine with reserves of 55 ths tons of high-quality ore. In October, Yubileynaya Mine commissioned block 34-36 +10 of the second floor of the Gnezdo deposit with reserves of 115 ths tons.
As GMK Center reported earlier, the mine produced almost 931 ths tons of commercial iron ore in 2023. Last year, the company operated in the mode of maximum resource conservation.
