Sukha Balka commissioned new facilities with reserves of 115 thousand tons

In December, Sukha Balka mine, part of DCH Steel Group, commissioned two new blocks for the extraction of iron ore with total reserves of 115 thousand tons. This is stated in the company’s corporate newspaper.

Modern self-propelled loading and drilling equipment was used in the preparation of mine workings in these blocks.

At Frunze Mine, block 51-57 of the Druzhba deposit was put into operation at a horizon of 1,210 meters. Mining operations at the block started in the second half of December. The reserves of the new block will ensure the operation of the No. 6 section for the next two months.

At Yubileyna mine, blocks 37-43 of the seventh floor of the Main deposit were put into operation at the horizon of -1420 m. Its reserves amount to 81 thousand tons. The preparatory work was carried out by the cutting section No. 7. The ore with an iron content of 57% is mined at section No. 10. The ore reserves will last until spring 2024.

In both blocks, mining is carried out using high-performance loading and delivery machines, which improves the technical and economic performance of mining.

In the fall, Sukha Balka commissioned two blocks with reserves of 170 thousand tons. Since the beginning of the year, the company has launched more than 9 blocks with total reserves of more than 1 million tons of ore. At the beginning of September, Frunze Mine commissioned Block 39-45 with reserves of 55 thousand tons of high-quality ore. In October, Yubileyna Mine commissioned block 34-36 +10 of the second floor of the Gnezdo deposit with reserves of 115 thousand tons.

As GMK Center reported earlier, the mine produced almost 931 thousand tons of commercial iron ore in 2023. Last year, the company operated in the mode of maximum resource conservation.
