The Spanish company Tubacex will build the first seamless pipe plant in Central Asia in Kazakhstan. This was announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan after a meeting between Foreign Minister Murat Nurtleu and Tubacex CEO Stefano Manfredi in Astana.
As noted, the future company will specialize in the manufacture of seamless pipes made of nickel alloys and stainless steel. These products are widely used in the oil, gas and energy industries.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan assured of the government’s readiness to provide comprehensive support for the implementation of the investment project. According to him, the launch of the plant will strengthen the country’s industrial potential and help create new jobs.
The Tubacex project is in line with Kazakhstan’s plans to further industrialize, increase regional competitiveness and develop technological exchange. The country has already established itself as an economic leader in Central Asia and is seeking to consolidate this status with the help of modern production facilities.
Tubacex has 24 plants and 14 service centers around the world. The company has been operating in Kazakhstan since 2022, producing pipe components in Atyrau.
The new plant is expected to become a strategic facility not only for Kazakhstan but also for the entire region.
As GMK Center reported earlier, in 2024, Kazakhstan increased steel production by 9.5% compared to 2023, to 4.17 million tons. Last year, flat products production increased by 18.2% compared to 2023, to 2.9 million tons.
