In January-September 2024, the index of construction works performed in Ukraine increased by 23.8% compared to the same period in 2023. The volume of construction work performed during this period in monetary terms reached UAH 131.36 billion. This is evidenced by data from the State Statistics Service.
While in the first half of this year, engineering structures were the driver of construction growth in Ukraine (+46.1% y/y), in January-September the difference between the construction of buildings and engineering structures decreased to +25.4% y/y and 21.7% y/y, respectively. In particular, the construction of residential buildings increased by 12.2% y/y over the period, and non-residential buildings by 27.2% y/y. In monetary terms, residential construction reached UAH 18.72 billion, non-residential construction – UAH 35.38 billion, and construction of engineering structures – UAH 77.25 billion.
The share of new construction in the total volume of construction work performed over 9 months amounted to 42.8%, repairs – 31%, reconstruction and technical re-equipment – 26.2%.

At the same time, residential construction decreased by 4.6% y/y, while non-residential construction increased by 20% y/y. The share of new construction in the total volume of construction work performed last year amounted to 36.3%, repairs – 42.9%, reconstruction and technical re-equipment – 20.8%.
