Sky Energy chooses Metinvest-SMC steel for construction of solar panels

Sky Energy, a company specializing in the sale of solar panels and the creation of structures for their installation, has chosen galvanized coiled steel from Metinvest-SMC to manufacture the frames of solar power plants (SPPs).

“Energy independence is the main goal for Ukrainian consumers, as it means confidence in their future, security for business and compliance with modern European technologies,” the statement said.

Galvanized coils are widely used in light steel thin-walled structures (LSTS) profiles, which are a key element in the construction of solar power plant frames. Thanks to galvanization, these profiles are highly resistant to corrosion, making them indispensable even in difficult weather conditions. In addition, the material is durable, lightweight, cost-effective and environmentally friendly, and ensures quick installation of structures. This reduces the overall weight of the frames, makes them more resistant to loads and ensures that the material can be recycled.

The cooperation between Sky Energy and Metinvest-SMC contributes to the development of alternative energy and strengthening Ukraine’s energy independence. Thanks to high-quality materials, structures for solar power plants are becoming even more reliable and efficient. This is an important step towards a future where solar energy will play a key role in ensuring the stability and autonomy of both businesses and citizens.

As GMK Center reported earlier, Metinvest-SMC supplied 3.2 thousand tons of rolled steel plates to rebuild an important infrastructure facility, the Desna River bridge to Chernihiv, which was destroyed by the Russian enemy at the beginning of the full-scale invasion. In May 2024, traffic on the first stage of the bridge was opened, and the bridge was scheduled to be fully commissioned with all approaches and interchanges by October.
