Scrap collection in Ukraine increased by 46.1% in 2M 2021

Scrap collection in January–February 2021 in Ukraine increased by 46.1% to 596 thousand tons y-o-y, according to the updated statistics of Ukrmetallurgprom.

Of these, 566 thousand tons were supplied to Ukrainian steelmakers as imported scrap. This is 42.6% up from 2M 2020.

In January–February, exports of scrap from Ukraine hiked by 173% to 30 thousand tons.

As reported earlier, according to UAVtormet, Ukrainian steelmaking companies received 2.9 million tons of scrap in 2020, 3.9% down from 2019.
