Scrap collection in Ukraine increased by 41.3% in H1 2021

Scrap collection in January–June 2021 in Ukraine increased by 41.3% to 1,872 thousand tons y-o-y, according to the updated statistics of Ukrmetallurgprom.

Of these, 1,641 thousand tons were supplied to Ukrainian steelmakers as imported scrap, 25.5% up from January–June 2020.

In H1, exports of scrap from Ukraine jumped by 1,275% to 231 thousand tons y-o-y.

As reported earlier, according to UAVtormet, Ukrainian steelmaking companies received 1.65 million tons of scrap in H1 2021, 26.3% up from 2020.
