Saudi Arabia’s industrial production index rose 27% in April

Saudi Arabia’s Industrial Production Index increased in April 2022 by 26.7% compared to the same month last year, ZAWYA reported with reference to the General Directorate of Statistics of Saudi Arabia.

Index continues to show growth amid high activity in mining, quarrying and industry.

Mining in Saudi Arabia in April increased by 28.3% compared to April 2021, and the production sector – by 25.1%. Electricity supplies increased by 2%.

Compared to March 2022, industrial production increased by 1.3%. Mining showed a monthly increase of 1.3%. At the same time, the manufacturing sector decreased by 2%, and electricity supplies increased by 2.1%.

Industrial production in China in April 2022 decreased by 2.9% compared to April 2021. The volume of US industrial production by the end of the month increased by 5.8%.

Earlier GMK Center reported that in 2021, Saudi Arabia increased steel production by 12.3% compared to 2020, to 8.7 million tons. The country ranked 21st in the global ranking of steel producers.
