Regulator approves increase in electricity transmission tariff for 2026

The National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Public Utilities (NEURC) has approved Ukrenergo’s tariff for electricity transmission in 2026 at UAH 786.74/MWh (excluding VAT), which is 14.6% higher than the current year’s tariff.

The decision was approved at a meeting of the regulator on November 4, Interfax-Ukraine reports.

For green steel industry companies, the tariff was approved at UAH 428.63/MWh, an increase of 19.2%.

In addition, the NEURC plans to increase the tariff for dispatching by 11.3% to 110.15 UAH/MWh.

The required income (projected expenses) in the structure of the NEC tariff for transmission for 2026 amounts to 74.33 billion UAH.

The regulator’s decision is subject to further discussion for final approval.

As a reminder, in July of this year, the NEURC increased the maximum prices on the electricity market in the evening hours (from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.) by 1.6 times. The corresponding decision came into force on July 31. According to the resolution, from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., the maximum prices on the day-ahead market (DAM) and intraday market (IDM) are set at UAH 15,000/MWh (previously UAH 9,000/MWh MWh), and on the balancing market – UAH 16,000/MWh (previously – UAH 10,000/MWh).

As GMK Center reported earlier, electricity prices in Europe in September fluctuated depending on the volume of generation from renewable sources, growth in demand amid changing weather conditions, changes in gas prices, and carbon emissions. Overall, in the third quarter of 2025, prices on most major European markets rose, exceeding €65/MWh.
