In Q1 2021, production of steel structures in Ukraine increased by 23% to 39 thousand tons compared to the same period of 2020, according to the final statistics of Ukrainian Steel Construction Center (USCC).
“The growth in production of steel structures in Q1 is likely related to the growth in the rate of metal purchases for projects at the stage of implementation, amid a constant rise in metal prices,” says USCC.
USCC noted an increase in the number of companies with the output of more than 5 thousand tons and from 2 to 5 thousand tons.
In January–March, apparent consumption of steel structures grew by 22% to 38 thousand tons compared to the same period of 2020.
Exports of steel structures over this period increased by 27% to 3 thousand tons. Steel structures used in general construction accounted for 95% of total exports.
As reported earlier, according to preliminary data, production of steel structures increased by 6.5% to 147 thousand tons in 2020 against 2019. Consumption increased by 10% to 149 thousand tons.
