Украинский коридор
During the operation of the Ukrainian corridor, almost 5,000 ships were handled and over 130 million tons of cargo were transshipped.
This was announced by the head of the State Enterprise “Administration of Sea Ports of Ukraine” (ASPU) Oleksandr Semyga during a visit by German Federal Foreign Minister Johann Wadefuhle and Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga to the Odessa seaport.
More than 80 million tons of the total volume is grain.
“The port infrastructure is constantly under enemy attack — shelling occurs every week. But every employee in the industry understands the importance of their work and the role that Ukrainian ports play in supporting global food and logistics security,” said Oleksandr Semyga.
It should be recalled that since the beginning of 2025, the Ukrainian maritime corridor has already transported more than 25 million tons of cargo, including more than 15 million tons of grain. This route has become critically important for the domestic economy, especially for the metallurgical industry. According to NBU estimates, up to 30% of metal exports are transported through this corridor.
As GMK Center reported earlier, Ukraine’s seaports handled 18.5 million tons of ore cargo in 2024. Total cargo turnover last year reached a record 97.2 million tons, compared to 62 million tons in 2023, with exports amounting to 88.1 million tons. In January-December 2024, the total cargo turnover of the Ukrainian maritime corridor amounted to 79.9 million tons, with 76.4 million tons being export cargo. The number of ships that used this route last year was 3,138.
