Philipp Englin, CEO of World Steel Dynamics (WSD), a U.S. steel consultancy, joined the Supervisory Board of Ukrainian think tank GMK Center. The parties signed a corresponding agreement the day before, on 28 July.
The Supervisory Board of GMK Center will consist of at least three members. Its functions will be as follows:
Partnership of WSD and GMK Center started almost two years ago. Over that time, WSD has contributed its experience and intellectual inputs in the creation of a professional, analytical and information service on the basis of GMK Center with a focus on the CIS and Eastern Europe region.
“During these two years, we carried out some major projects, in particular, the largest steel conference in Milan, European Steel Conference. We highly appreciate the quality of GMK Center products. Our joint efforts will focus on the most pressing issues for the industry. Among other things, my role as a Supervisory Board member will be to track important strategic changes behind current market problems,” says Philipp Englin.
“We are pleased to continue our cooperation with Philipp and WSD. It is very important for us to be one step ahead and use the best practices. Otherwise, it is impossible to work for the benefit of clients in the consulting business,” stressed Stanislav Zinchenko, GMK Center CEO.
As reported earlier, in mid-July, Horst Wiesinger, CEO of Austrian consulting company Horst Wiesinger Consulting (HWC), was elected as Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Ukrainian think tank GMK Center.
In December 2018, World Steel Dynamics and GMK Center launched a joint project to develop information services for steelmaking companies of Ukraine and Eastern Europe.
