Northern GOK continues to ship pellets to European metallurgists

The Northern Mining and Processing Plants (Northern GOK) continues to ship high-quality pellets to European metallurgists, said Metinvest Kryvyi Rih on its Facebook page.

All divisions of the plant are involved in work – from mining to production of finished products – and employees of contractors. Miners day and night ship ore, specialists of processing complex monitor compliance of technological processes and quality indicators of products.

The Metinvest Promservice maintains the equipment in working order.

“In proper time railroad workers ship metallurgical raw materials. The miners proved once again that they are strong and indestructible”, message stated.

Meanwhile the Ingulets GOK continues to ship raw materials. The plant sends 3.5 million tons of concentrate per day to European metallurgists, forming four railway routes.

Meanwhile the most of Metinvest metallurgical enterprises transfers most of its capacities to conservation mode. Earlier “Zaporizhcocke” and “Zaporizhstal” were transferred to hot preservation mode. Before, the part of facilities of “Ilyich Iron and Steel Work” and “Azovstal” were also suspended. Decisions on further work of facilities will be made according to the situation.

The Northern GOK is one of the largest mining and processing plants in Europe.

In 2021, the Northern GOK increased the production of commercial pellets by 20.2% year-to-year, to 6.35 million tons. The output of iron ore concentrate increased by 5.2%, to 13,4 million tons.
