In November 2022, the Kryvyi Rih enterprises of the Metinvest Group produced 12 modular shelters for the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This is stated in the press release of Metinvest.Media.
Shelters are made by teams of locksmiths and electric gas welders from various enterprises of the company. Structures are assembled from corrugated steel according to an improved project, taking into account the needs of the military. Dimensions of each building: length – 6 m, and diameter more than 2 m.
The structure is quickly disassembled for transportation and moving to other positions. Specialists spend approximately 400 hours on the producing of one such shelter.
Inside each structure, specialists arranged 6 wooden beds and made a raised floor that can be used as storage. Special compartments for storing ammunition and strategic items were also mounted, and for heating, boilers with clothes dryers were installed.
In total, within the framework of the «Steel Front» military initiative, the company’s enterprises produced and handed over 40 modular shelters to the Ukrainian military. They are planned to be produced at Metinvest enterprises until the end of the war.
As GMK Center reported earlier, Metinvest has handed over 25 mobile shelters produced at the company’s enterprises o the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Shelters are given to the military free of charge, as well as all other equipment. The production of one such steel construction costs UAH 200,000.
