Metinvest’s humanitarian hub in Zaporizhzhia has produced more than 1 million essential sets

The humanitarian hub of Metinvest Group, which operates on the basis of Zaporizhstal Steel Works, has handed over more than 1 million food and hygiene kits to Ukrainians since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion. This is stated in the press release of the enterprise.

The majority of the aid – almost 800,000 sets – was provided as part of the Saving Lives humanitarian project, which Metinvest established in coordination with the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation. The humanitarian initiative has brought together ten foundations and public organizations, as well as more than 250 donor companies from around the world. In addition, more than 245,000 sets were assembled and delivered under the Saving Lives program of the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation.

More than 500 volunteer employees of Zaporizhstal joined the assembly of the first aid kits for IDPs, residents of frontline cities and Ukrainians belonging to socially vulnerable categories. More than 3 thousand vehicles were used to deliver the «life packages» to the humanitarian aid distribution points in Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovs’k, Kherson, Mykolaiv, Odesa and other regions.

«Our strength and resilience to the challenges of wartime lies in our unity and ability to respond quickly to public demand,» said Roman Slobodianiuk, CEO of Zaporizhstal.

He emphasized that the hub will continue its work as long as Ukrainians need such assistance.

Since the beginning of the full-scale war, Metinvest Group has donated UAH 6.9 billion to help Ukraine and its citizens, including more than UAH 3.4 billion for the needs of the army as part of the Steel Front military initiative. The company is the largest private donor to the army according to NV magazine. It develops a range of products for the Armed Forces, including special mobile shelters. The group’s specialists are also involved in the construction of strongholds and defensive fortifications, and manufacture fake targets, etc. To strengthen the army’s defense capabilities, Metinvest has established a systematic supply of machinery and equipment to the frontline.
