Metinvest was shortlisted for the Reuters: Sustainability Awards

Metinvest Group has entered the short list of nominees for one of the most respected global awards in the field of sustainable development – Reuters: Sustainability Awards. This is stated in the message of Metinvest.Media.

On July 31, the list of finalists in each category appeared on the initiative’s website. The company with the project «The Hero’s Path: Ecosystem for the Integration of Metinvest Veterans» claims victory in the «Diversity, Equality and Inclusion» nomination.

The Reuters: Sustainability Awards is the world’s leading award that recognizes leadership in the field of sustainable business development. The award goes to those who create a new format of doing business in the 21st century. For the past 14 years, the award has served as a benchmark for companies around the world.

In 2024, 16 winners will be selected in four main areas of sustainable business development:

  • «Climate and Nature»,
  • «Strategies and Leadership»,
  • Driving Social Change (this category includes the Diversity, Equality and Inclusion Award),
  • «Reporting and Investments».

Among the applicants for awards are such world-famous brands as Amazon, General Electric, Lotus, Lenovo, Verizon, Bayer and others.

«For Metinvest, inclusion in the list of finalists of a globally recognized award is, first of all, an assessment of the work performed at our enterprises by managers, leaders, and ordinary employees who welcome veterans returning from the war into their families every day. Reintegration of former military personnel is both a challenge and an opportunity for the company. This is our future and the path for every large Ukrainian business,» said Tetyana Petruk, director of sustainable development and interaction with personnel of the Metinvest group.

She added that the company is ready to be a leader in this direction in the country, because every sixth of its employees is currently in the ranks of the Armed Forces.

The «Hero’s Path: Metinvest Veterans Integration Ecosystem» project is a comprehensive program with a list of courses of action that the company is guided by during the return of former military personnel. In total, more than 1,000 veterans have already started working in the group, while 8,000 employees are protecting Ukraine from the Russian invasion in the ranks of the Armed Forces.

Winners in each category will be determined in October this year during a gala ceremony in London.

As GMK Center reported earlier, Metinvest was among the top five bidders of the HR Wisdom Summit of Ukraine. The company won the nomination for the best veteran adaptation program.
