Metinvest Group topped Delo.ua’s ranking of AI leaders in Ukraine’s mining and metallurgical sector, according to a company statement.
The publication conducted a national study, compiling a list of the top 50 leaders with the best AI practices—companies where artificial intelligence is integrated into strategy, processes, and specific metrics. The ranking participants were listed in alphabetical order across 16 categories.
As the publication notes, the situation in Ukraine is unique in that AI here is not about workforce optimization; rather, it is a way to maintain the speed and scale of businesses, as mobilization, migration, and demographic losses have exacerbated the shortage of workers in the labor market.
Metinvest uses artificial intelligence in production, marketing, sales, finance, logistics, HR, and IT, writes Delo.ua.
“The Group develops its own AI solutions, which are already integrated into business and operational processes, forming a unified corporate AI ecosystem,” the publication explains.
Among the company’s main products:
A separate category of solutions consists of predictive and optimization models for production planning, inventory management, and logistics.
AI is an integral part of the company’s operational ecosystem and is integrated into core systems. For example, in their daily work, employees use the MS Copilot intelligent assistant to automate analytics, document preparation, and communications.
At the technical level, language models interact with CRM, ERP, logistics, and manufacturing platforms. Computer vision is integrated into video surveillance and security systems, and MIOSIAR (an IDP platform for intelligent document processing) works directly with the electronic document management system (EDMS), which is integrated into SAP ERP and other data sources. As a result, AI functions as an embedded element of the digital architecture, connecting data, processes, and users, and can be scaled for external clients.
As explained by Sergiy Detuk, Director of IT and Risk Analysis at Metinvest Group, AI is becoming one of the key drivers of industrial competitiveness, particularly in manufacturing, adding value to the business through IT solutions and available data.
“ In the context of the war, we are focusing on solutions that help to maintain efficiency even with limited resources. Our priority is to scale successful solutions across all Metinvest operations and subsequently offer them to external clients in Ukraine and Europe,” he noted.
As a reminder, Metinvest ranked among the top three in the “Sustainable Development Programs Rating” in Ukraine according to the business publication The Page, taking second place. The top three also included the auditing firm Deloitte Ukraine and the IT company SoftServe. The project’s goal is to showcase the best ESG practices of Ukrainian companies in 2024–2025.
