Metinvest to equip 5.5 thousand places for refugees

Metinvest Group will equip approximately 5,500 beds to accommodate people evacuated from the hottest spots in Ukraine. It’s stated in the message on the company’s website.

“We believe that common sense will awaken in our enemy and humanitarian routes will work”, said Yuriy Ryzhenkov, CEO of the Metinvest Group.

“People are waiting for help in cities where there has been continuous shelling for more than a week. Mariupol today is simply dying without food, water – and in the cold. We are ready to help. We know how, and most importantly, we have something to help. We hope that this terrible situation will be resolved in the next few hours and we will be able to save people.”

Refugees are planned to be received at recreation centers, health camps, preventive clinics, and hostels in Zaporizhzhya, Kryvyi Rih, Kamensky and Pokrovsk.

Metinvest volunteers collected blankets, pillows, linen and other necessary items. The Group buys mattresses. It’s created conditions for cooking and eating. Goods of prime necessity were purchased: fresh water, food and medicines.

As a reminder, the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation, the Metinvest Group and DTEK have teamed up to help Ukrainians who have suffered from the Russian attack on Ukraine. A transshipment hub has been set up in Poland, where aid from all over the world is collected and delivered to Ukraine.

The first 80 tons of goods of prime necessity have already been sent to Ukraine. Further in the Zaporizhzhya Humanitarian Coordination Center, established at Zaporizhstal, volunteers will sort the goods and form them for further transportation to the cities of Ukraine to help refugees and affected Ukrainians.

As previously reported, Ferrexpo accommodated 1,335 people from other regions of the country in its real estate, who sought shelter from the war – a hotel, recreation centers, a hostel, and a children camp.

The “Interpipe ” provides for the needs for medications, expendable materials, medical supplies of city hospitals No. 16, No. 4, No. 6, No. 8, Mechnikov Regional Clinical Hospitals providing special assistance to the wounded.
