Metinvest Polytechnic announces the start of the 2024 admission campaign

Metinvest Polytechnic, Ukraine’s first non-state iron and steel university, announces the start of the 2024 admission campaign. This is stated in the press release of Metinvest Group.

Bachelor’s and master’s programs in modern engineering and technical specialties will begin in September, and courses to prepare for the National Multiple Subject Test (NMT) will begin in March.

«The start of the admission campaign at Metinvest Polytechnic opens the doors to a new stage for future leaders who will not only be the driving force behind Ukraine’s recovery, but also the key architects of our industry’s modernization. In times of war, higher engineering education takes on new meaning for Ukraine. Students of the University get real opportunities to gain practical experience in real production conditions, develop in science, and build a successful career in the Ukrainian industry,» said Rector of the University Oleksandr Povazhnyi.

In addition to obtaining higher education on a contractual basis, there is an opportunity to study on Metinvest’s order, which allows students to receive education at the expense of the customer without spending their own money. The company covers tuition costs for its employees and their children, as well as for students who are ready to work at the company’s production facilities during and after their studies.

This year, the university is enrolling students in 16 bachelor’s and 18 master’s programs and is also opening a postgraduate program. The university will train bachelors in the following areas: metallurgy, mineral deposit development, materials science, computer science, automation and computer-integrated technologies, environmental protection, mechanical equipment and systems engineering, power supply and electromechanical systems engineering, business analytics, value-based business management, welding, and occupational safety.

The future bachelors will have to pass the NMT, which, according to preliminary data, will take place from May 14 to July 19. Starting July 1, applicants will be able to create electronic offices for submitting applications. Applicants to the master’s program will take a single entrance or professional exam, depending on the chosen study program. Online courses in NMT from Metinvest Polytechnic will help to prepare for the admission.

The university combines distance learning with dual education and offline laboratory workshops. Practical training takes place at Metinvest’s production facilities in Zaporizhzhia, Kryvyi Rih and Kamianske. And the best students will be offered internships at the company’s enterprises abroad.

As GMK Center reported earlier, in December 2023, Metinvest Polytechnic held the first international scientific and technical conference on the reconstruction of Ukraine, MININGMETALTECH 2023 – Mining and Metal Complex: Integration of Business, Technology and Education. The conference was attended by about 200 business representatives, scientists and educators. The main goal of the event was to promote the post-war recovery of Ukraine with the help of science as an integral element of the future.

Metinvest Polytechnic is a university of the future that provides new and broad opportunities for young people. The university was founded by Metinvest Group in June 2020, and the first intake of students took place in 2022. The main goal of the project is to bring European-level higher education to Ukraine. The university is open to people who have chosen technical specialties that are in demand in the labor market. The Group guarantees the best students a first job, financial and other incentives. The university currently has more than 690 students.
