Metinvest Pokrovskvugillia has produced 2 million tons of coal since the beginning of the year

Pokrovske Mine Administration, part of Metinvest Pokrovskvugillia, has produced 2 million tons of coal since the beginning of 2024. This is stated in a press release on the company’s Facebook page.

Despite the tense situation in Donetsk region, all 4 coal mining areas of the mine management are operating steadily.

“Our miners know that the economic stability of the country depends on their work,” the company said.

Metinvest Pokrovskvugillia has been operating in extremely difficult conditions for three years in a row. Since then, the company has produced over 12 million tons of coal, and the specialists of Svyato-Varvarinskaya Concentrator have produced over 6 million tons of concentrate.

By the end of 2024, miners at Pokrovske Mine and concentrators at Svyato-Varvarinskaya Plant plan to produce about 2.8 million tons of concentrate. By 2025, the company plans to introduce remote control of shearers. Currently, the company is using tapping machines to speed up the commissioning of new longwalls.

As GMK Center reported earlier, on February 21 this year, the company commissioned the 11th longwall for coking coal production at Block 10 of Pokrovske Mine.

Despite the difficult mining and geological conditions, the 11th longwall, 242 meters long, is one of the most promising areas of work. Its reserves amount to 993 thousand tons of coal. The miners plan to produce up to 2.5 thousand tons of coal per day from this face. It is expected that the longwall reserves will take more than a year to be developed.

As GMK Center reported earlier, Metinvest Pokrovskvugillia produced 3.1 million tons of coal concentrate in 2023 and sank 20 km of mine workings.
