In 2025, Metinvest Group’s metallurgical enterprises launched production of 11 new types of metal products, despite the difficult conditions of wartime and restrictions in energy and logistics. This was reported by the company’s press service.
Both the group’s Ukrainian assets and the Bulgarian rolling mill Promet Steel contributed to the expansion of the product portfolio.
In total, over more than ten years of war, Metinvest has mastered the production of 433 new types of products, maintaining its role as one of the key industrial pillars of the Ukrainian economy. In 2025, the company focused on products in high demand on European markets, particularly in the semi-finished, long, and flat products segments.
Last year, Metinvest mastered four new items in the semi-finished and long products segments, two items in hot-rolled coils and sheets, and one in cold-rolled products. The largest share of new products was provided by the Kametstal and Zaporizhstal plants, with another product launched at Promet Steel.
Kametstal has established production of four types of continuously cast billets with a cross-section of 335×400 mm from various grades of steel, which are used for the manufacture of pipe products. In addition, the company has mastered the production of B500SP grade rebar for Poland and B500C grade rebar for Romania, as well as 100 mm diameter grinding balls of the fifth hardness group for the mining and metallurgical industry.
In 2025, Zaporizhstal launched two new types of hot-rolled coils made of S235JR and S235JRC steel, as well as cold-rolled S280GD coils, which comply with European standards and are used in construction, mechanical engineering, and the manufacture of metal structures.
In turn, the Promet Steel plant began production of reinforcing bars for the North Macedonian market in accordance with national standards, expanding the Group’s presence in the Balkans.
As a reminder, Metinvest launched 20 new products in 2024, including at the Kametstal and Zaporizhstal plants. Most of the new products were developed in the long products segment (12), cold-rolled coils and sheets (4), hot-rolled coils and sheets (2), as well as galvanized coils and semi-finished products (one each).
