Metinvest has already handed over 200 mobile shelters to the defenders of Ukraine

Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine, Metinvest Group has handed over 200 special mobile shelters produced at the company’s enterprises to Ukrainian military personnel in the hottest areas. This is stated in the Metinvest.Media’s press release.

The fighters dig these steel capsules into the ground, cover them with timber on top and get a reliable shelter that can withstand even fire from 152-mm shells.

«We have already handed over 200 shelters to the army. First of all, in the Donetsk direction, these are Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Pokrovsk. Also, our shelters work in the direction of Zaporizhzhia, and in the direction of Kherson, near Kryvyi Rih and further to Kherson – they were needed there when active hostilities and the liberation of the city took place,» said the operational director of the Group Oleksandr Myronenko.

Fighters highly appreciate these shelters, because they allow them to rest in comfortable conditions. There are places for sitting and weapons, drains for water and a small pot. Protective structures made of corrugated steel were developed by Metinvest together with the military and took into account all their wishes and recommendations.

In general, through Rinat Akhmetov’s «Steel Front» military initiative, Metinvest directed more than UAH 1.8 billion to support the Ukrainian army. In addition to mobile shelters, the company independently and together with partners set up the production of other steel products for the needs of the military. Among them are plates for body armors, anti-tank hedgehogs, minibastions, hard protection elements for front-line vehicles, field stoves and sapper cats.

As GMK Center reported earlier, Metinvest, through Rinat Akhmetov’s «Steel Front» military initiative, transferred another tranche of aid to the defenders of Avdiivka with a total cost of UAH 1.3 million. The defenders received three DJI Mavic 3 Fly More Combo drones, two DJI Mavic 3T drones with thermal imagers, 9 powerful EcoFlow charging stations and a Starlink satellite terminal.
