Metinvest has allocated UAH 10.1 billion to support Ukraine over four years of war

Over four years of full-scale war, Metinvest Group has allocated UAH 10.1 billion to support the state and its citizens, according to a company statement.

Of this amount, UAH 7.3 billion was allocated to the Ukrainian army as part of Rinat Akhmetov’s Steel Front military initiative. In total, the aid covered more than 1.1 million Ukrainians.

«Despite all the challenges of the times, Metinvest has not only survived but has become a reliable pillar of Ukraine. We ensure production and pay taxes, help the army and civilians, and take care of our employees,» said Yuriy Ryzhenkov, CEO of Metinvest Group.

The company is one of the largest donors to the Armed Forces among private businesses.

From the first days of the war, the metal products manufactured by the group have been used to support the Ukrainian army. One of the most important developments is “hideouts” — special metal structures that are buried underground and serve as shelters and field housing for soldiers. Since the start of the full-scale war, Ukraine’s defenders have received 900 hideouts from the company.

Based on these designs, the group has set up command posts and built two underground hospitals on the front line. In addition, Ukraine’s first underground training hub has been created for the military, and in Borodianka, Kyiv region, a new type of steel shelter for civilians called “Citadel” has been built.

The company has mastered the production of protective metal screens for military equipment (Abrams, Bradley, T-64, T-72, MT-LB). Soldiers have already received 309 screens and shields.

In addition, Metinvest’s specialists have established the production of anti-mine trawls for tanks, with 31 such structures delivered to the front. Together with the military, the company is working on the creation of defense lines, with over 200 km of fortifications built in the Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia regions.

The group provides the army with reconnaissance, surveillance, communications, and power supply equipment. In particular, the military received more than 8,337 reconnaissance drones, 2,088 thermal imagers and high-precision surveillance optics, 765 backup power systems, 875 units of communications equipment, 795 vehicles, including ambulances, and 1.55 million liters of fuel to refuel them.

Last year, one of the largest batches of drones, worth UAH 214 million, was received by the 1st Corps of the National Guard of Ukraine “Azov.” In total, in 2025, the amount of aid provided to Azov by Metinvest reached UAH 600 million.

The company donated 31,655 first aid kits and tourniquets to the army and allocated nearly UAH 26 million to the development of tactical medicine in Ukraine in cooperation with the PULSE charitable foundation.

At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, in coordination with the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation, the group launched the humanitarian project «Saving Lives,» which has already helped about 516,000 Ukrainian civilians. Thanks to donors and partners, approximately 4,200 tons of food, personal hygiene products, and essential items have been delivered to the country. Hospitals have been provided with medicines and equipment worth UAH 9.5 million.

Amidst a full-scale war, Metinvest continues to invest in the development of the regions where it operates and in improving the lives of local communities. Since 2022, the company has allocated more than UAH 1.4 billion to support social infrastructure, education, healthcare, and charitable projects.

It should be noted that Metinvest, including its associates and joint ventures, paid UAH 18.7 billion in taxes and fees to budgets of all levels in Ukraine in 2025.
