Metinvest employs more than 900 of its migrant workers

Since the beginning of the war, Metinvest has employed more than 900 migrants at enterprises in Kamyanske, Zaporizhzhia, Kryvyi Rih and Pokrovsk, who worked at the group’s factories. Corporate publication Metinvest Media informs about it.

Most of these migrants found a job in Kamyanske at the Kametstal Iron and Steel Plant. Some work in their professions, others have been retrained – the company offers employees from Mariupol and Avdiivka to be trained in scarce professions with subsequent employment at the group’s mills and plants, as well as at utility companies in the cities where Metinvest operates.

Now there is a set for retraining in 53 professions, in total 2008 places are open:

  • Kryvyi Rih: 18 professions, 1,079 jobs;
  • Kamyanske: 9 professions, 639 jobs;
  • Zaporizhzhia: 17 professions, 159 places;
  • Pokrovsk: 9 professions, 131 places.

The company will provide financial support to employees who decide to undergo training:

  • compensation of expenses for moving to the city of training – UAH 5 thousand;
  • compensation for housing rental expenses in the amount of UAH 3,000 per month (for up to 6 months);
  • 10 thousand UAH in the first week of training;
  • employees studying for employment at enterprises are paid UAH 10,000 for each full month of training.

The mining company Ferrexpo since the beginning of the war employed 88 internally displaced persons in their enterprises. The new employees have taken up positions appropriate to their level of training and skills, such as truck drivers, craftsmen, mechanics and medical personnel.

As GMK Center reported earlier, since the beginning of the war, the Metinvest group sent more than UAH 1.7 billion for the needs of the army, support of the national economy, assistance to employees and civilians.
