Lemtrans repaired more than 1.8 thousand railcars in January-April

Lemtrans, Ukraine’s largest private freight operator, repaired 1.8 thousand freight cars in January-April 2024. This is stated in a press release on the company’s Facebook page.

“Achieving our results was made possible by strategic planning of production processes, investments in equipment and the high qualifications of our staff. These steps, if necessary, allow us to quickly deploy railcar repair facilities in other regions of the country,” said Volodymyr Mezentsev, CEO of Lemtrans.

Lemtrans fills the state budget and continues to invest in facilities despite all the challenges. In particular, it is a project to modernize leased car repair depots, where the company was able to increase the volume of repair work by 2.5 times by replacing 90% of the old equipment (before the war).

In 2023, Lemtrans paid UAH 929 million in taxes and fees to the budgets of all levels of Ukraine. In particular, UAH 840 million was transferred to the state budget and over UAH 88 million to local budgets. The unified social contribution (USC) amounted to approximately UAH 64 million.

During the year, the volume of scheduled and current repairs of freight cars at Lemtrans’ car repair site amounted to 5.22 thousand units. The company’s total transportation volume is approximately 17 million tons of cargo. The main share is coal – 13.5 million tons, construction materials – 2.9 million tons, and iron ore – 0.4 million tons.
