Lemtrans plans to build a modern container terminal in Fastiv

Lemtrans, Ukraine’s largest private freight operator, plans to build a container terminal in Fastiv, which will become an important logistics hub for the region and the country as a whole. This was announced by Oleksandr Tkachuk, Director of Terminal Network Development at Levada Cargo (Lemtrans Group), during the Economic Forum 2025 “Platform for Development”.

The planned terminal will become a strategic facility of the region’s transport infrastructure. Its opening will help optimize logistics chains, expand export opportunities for Ukrainian producers and facilitate the integration of local businesses into international markets.

The Fastiv Forum was not only a platform for presentations but also a platform for discussing economic challenges and development opportunities. The key topics included infrastructure upgrades in the region, prospects for public-private partnerships, job creation and investment attraction.

Lemtrans Group remains an active investor in the transportation industry even in times of war. In 2024, the company invested UAH 478 million in logistics and infrastructure projects, three times more than in the previous year. Of this amount, UAH 441 million was invested in the development of the terminal and container business.

Despite the challenging economic situation, the company continues to implement new projects aimed at strengthening Ukraine’s logistics potential.

As GMK Center previously reported, Lemtrans transported 15.9 million tons of cargo last year. The key cargoes were coal – 10.9 million tons (13.5 million tons in 2023), iron ore – 2.3 million tons (0.4 million tons), and construction materials – 2.01 million tons (2.9 million tons).

In 2024, the Group’s companies paid over UAH 712 million in taxes and fees to the budgets of all levels.
