Lemtrans handed over equipment for the Armed Forces worth more than UAH 3 million

Ukraine’s largest private cargo transportation operator Lemtrans through «Steel Front»military initiative handed over UAH 3.3 million worth of equipment to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This is stated in the press release on the company’s website.

«The company continues to work in war conditions and provides transportation of Ukrainian goods by rail. Despite the direct war losses, the difficult situation on the transport market, as well as the fact that part of the company’s railcar fleet is still blocked due to the occupation of part of the territory of Ukraine, Lemtrans does not lose its stability,» the report says.

Lemtrans handed over 8 DJI Matrice quadcopters and 8 Starlink terminals to the defenders. Thus, the company’s total budget for the support of the Armed Forces and humanitarian aid to the population increased to the level of UAH 38 million.

«We support the state, because we believe that effective interaction between it and business is a guarantee of the country’s security. Now all our efforts are aimed at ensuring the stable operation of the company, because these are jobs for Ukrainians, extremely important tax payments to the budget of Ukraine, and most importantly – it is help for defenders», commented the CEO of the company Volodymyr Mezentsev.

Currently, more than 70 employees of the Lemtrans company protect Ukraine in the ranks of the Armed Forces.

As GMK Center reported earlier, in 2022, Lemtrans transferred to the budgets 1.3 billion UAH of taxes of all levels, in particular, 1.2 billion UAH to the state budget, and 95 million UAH to the local budget. 22 million UAH were allocated to help the army and the population of Ukraine during the year.

Lemtrans is the largest private operator of freight rail transportation in Ukraine. In 2022, the company reduced railway transportation of iron ore by 5.9 times compared to 2021 – to 1.64 million tons.
