In 2023, Kryvyi Rih Iron Ore Plant (KZHRK) reduced the production of commercial iron ore from underground mining by 24.4% compared to 2022, to 2.18 million tons. This is stated in the company’s corporate newspaper.
Over the year, Ternivska mine produced 543 thousand tons of commercial ore, which is 29.5% less than in 2022. Kozatska mine reduced production by 40.6% y/y, to 465.4 thousand tons, Pokrovska mine – by 9.2% y/y, to 528.6 thousand tons, and Kryvorizka mine by 14.2% y/y, to 646 thousand tons.
The company’s production plan for the year was fulfilled by 94.9%.
In December, KZHRK produced 145 thousand tons of commercial iron ore, up 12.4% compared to December 2022 and 7.4% more than in November:
Thus, the plant fulfilled the monthly plan by 90.6%.

As GMK Center reported earlier, in 2022 KZHRK reduced production of commercial iron ore from underground mining by 33.3% compared to 2021 – to 2.89 million tons.
In the 12 months of 2022, the Ternivska mine produced 770,000 tons of marketable ore (-34% y/y), Kozatska – 783,000 tons (-29.1% y/y), Pokrovska – 582 thousand tons (-10.2% y/y), and Kryvorizka – 753 thousand tons (-46.6% y/y).
Kryvyi Rih Iron Ore Plant (KZHRK) is the largest producer of sinter ore in Ukraine. Most of its production volume is exported to Eastern Europe. KZHRK operates four underground mines. Its reserves amount to 210 million tons of rich iron ores, 58.6% Fe.
