KZHRK produced 2.3 million tons of sinter ore in January-August 2022

Sinter ore production decreased in 8 months of 2022 by 21.9% y/y

Kryvyi Rih Iron Ore Plant (KZHRK) in January-August 2022 reduced the production of iron ore from underground mining by 21.9% compared to the same period last year, to 2.304 million tons. This is stated in the enterprise’s corporate newspaper.

For 8 months of 2022, the Ternivska mine produced 630 thousand tons of iron ore, Kozatska – 625 thousand tons, Pokrovska – 457 thousand tons, and Kryvorizka – 592 thousand tons.

In August 2022, the plant produced 270 thousand tons of sinter ore, which is 30% less than in August 2021, including:

• Ternivska mine – 70 thousand tons (-30% y/y);
• Kozatska – 75 thousand tons (-25%);
• Pokrovska – 65 thousand tons (+3.2%);
• Kryvorizka – 60 thousand tons (-51.2%).

The structure of the enterprise includes four mines. The balance reserves are 210 million tons of rich iron ores with an average iron content of 58.6%.

As GMK Center reported earlier, KZHRK in 2021 decreased production of iron ore by 12.8% compared to 2020 – to 4.3 million tons.

Also, the pre-war plans of the enterprise for 2022 expected an increase in the production of iron ore with an iron content of 58.94% by 8.6% compared to 2021 – to 4.67 million tons.
