KZHRK increased sinter ore production by 12.5% ​​m/m in July

Kryvyi Rih Iron Ore Plant (KZHRK), In July 2023, increased the production of commercial iron ore from underground mining by 12.5% ​​compared to the previous month – up to 225 thousand tons. This is stated in the corporate newspaper enterprises.

On an annualized basis, in July 2023, KZHRK reduced the production of sinter ore by 29.7%.

In July 2023, the Ternivska mine produced 40 thousand tons of marketable ore, which is 20% less than the previous month and 46.7% less than in July 2022. The Kozatska mine increased production by 60% m/m and decreased by 46.7% y/y – up to 40 thousand tons. Pokrovska increased its production by 45.8% monthly and by 7.7% year-on-year – up to 70 thousand tons. The miners of the Krivorizka mine reduced ore production by 2.6% m/m and increased by 15.4% y/y – up to 75 thousand tons

According to the results of January-July 2023, the plant produced 1.43 million tons of sinter ore, which is 29.7% less than in the same period of 2022, including:

  • mine Ternivska – 335 thousand tons (-40.2% y/y);
  • Kozatska – 325.4 thousand tons (-40.8%);
  • Pokrovska – 317.6 thousand tons (-19%);
  • Kryvorizka – 452 thousand tons (-15%).

The production plan of the enterprise for the extraction of commercial iron ore in July of this year was fulfilled by 100%.

As GMK Center reported earlier, in 2022, KZHRK reduced production of commercial iron ore by 33.3% compared to 2021 – to 2.89 million tons.

In the 12 months of 2022, the Ternivska mine produced 770,000 tons of marketable iron ore (-34% y/y), Kozatska – 783,000 tons (-29.1% y/y), Pokrovska – 582 thousand tons (-10.2% y/y), and Kryvorizka – 753 thousand tons (-46.6% y/y).

Kryvyi Rih Iron Ore Plant (KZRK) is the largest producer of sinter ore in Ukraine. Most of its production volume is exported to Eastern Europe. KZHRK operates four underground mines. Its reserves amount to 210 million tons of rich iron ores, 58.6% Fe.
