Production of sinter ore for 9 months of 2022 decreased by 25% y/y

Kryvyi Rih Iron Ore Plant (KZHRK) in January-September 2022 reduced the production of underground iron ore by 25.05% compared to the same period last year – to 2.504 million tons. This is stated in the enterprise’s corporate newspaper.

In 9 months of 2022, the Ternivska mine produced 680,000 tons of iron ore, Kozatska – 675,000 tons, Pokrovska – 507,000 tons, and Kryvorizka – 642,000 tons.

In September 2022, the plant produced 200,000 tons of sinter ore, which is 48.7% less than in September 2021, including:

  • Ternivska mine – 50 thousand tons (-21.3% y/y);
  • Kozatska – 50 thousand tons (-25.4%);
  • Pokrovska – 50 thousand tons (+8.3%);
  • Kryvorizka – 50 thousand tons (-41.8%).

The structure of the enterprise includes four mines. The balance reserves are 210 million tons of rich iron ores with an average iron content of 58.6%.

As GMK Center reported earlier, KZHRK in 2021 decreased production of iron ore by 12.8% compared to 2020 – to 4.3 million tons.

Also, the pre-war plans of the enterprise for 2022 expected an increase in the production of iron ore with an iron content of 58.94% by 8.6% compared to 2021 – to 4.67 million tons.
