Kryvyi Rih Iron Ore Plant reduced sinter ore production by 16% in Q1 2022

Kryvyi Rih Iron Ore Plant in January-March this year reduced the production of commercial iron ore mined by underground mining by 16.1%, to 889 thousand tons compared to the same period last year, Interfax-Ukraine reported.

In January-March, Zhovtneva mine produced 162 thousand tons of marketable ore, Batkivshchyna mine 242 thousand tons, Gvardijska 240 thousand tons, and Ternivska 245 thousand tons. The total output was 889 thousand t.

In March, Zhovtneva mine produced 45 thousand tons of marketable ore, Batkivshchyna 60 thousand tons, Gvardijska and Ternivska 55 thousand tons each. In total, the plant produced 215 thousand tons.

In February, 329 thousand tons of marketable ore were produced, in January 345 thousand tons.

The enterprise includes four mines. The balance reserves are 210 million tons of rich iron ores with an average iron content in the rock of 58.6%.

Earlier reported GMK Center that in 2021 Kryvyi Rih Iron Ore Plant reduced commercial iron ore production by 12.8% compared to 2020, to 4.3 million tons.

The pre-war plans of the enterprise for 2022 was an increase in the production of commercial iron ore with an iron content of 58.94% by 8.6% compared to 2021, up to 4.67 million tons.
