Ukrainian industrial company Interpipe has supplied nearly 250 tons of seamless pipes for the construction of an offshore wind farm in the English Channel, near the French communes of Le Treport and Dieppe (Normandy). The customer was the company’s Spanish partner, according to a press release.
The pipe products are used as the basis for platforms designed to moor boats at each of the 62 wind turbines being built in the water area. The order included a wide range of pipes with diameters from 101.6 mm to 419.1 mm.
Construction of the wind farm began in January 2024 and is scheduled for completion at the end of 2026. Once commissioned, the facility will provide green electricity to more than 850,000 residents of the region.
«Our portfolio already includes several completed deliveries for geothermal and wind power plants. Harsh operating conditions, such as seawater in this case, always require products with improved performance characteristics. Our seamless pipes made of E355+N/S355NH steel, manufactured in accordance with EN 10297/EN 10210 standards, meet all the customer’s additional requirements for mechanical properties and chemical composition,» said Jorge Ruiz, Interpipe’s pipe sales manager.
As GMK Center reported earlier, Interpipe has become a supplier of seamless pipes for a large-scale engineering and architectural project in the Swiss Alps. They are being used in the reconstruction of the observation tower at the Titlis ski resort, where structures must withstand strong winds, snow, erosion, and loads on rocky ground.
