Interpipe cut production in the railway segment by 16% in 7M

According to Interfax-Ukraine, in January–July 2021, Interpipe, a Ukraine-based company, cut production of railway products by 15.9% to 97.5 thousand tons y-o-y.

Conversely, steel production increased by 19% to 535.4 thousand tons, and production of pipes and tubes jumped 18.5% to 317.1 thousand tons.

In July, the Company produced 78.1 thousand tons of steel, 15.5 thousand tons of railway products and 55 thousand tons of pipes and tubes.

In January–July 2021, the main sales markets for railway products included:

  • CIS (43%);
  • EU (33%);
  • Ukraine (10%);
  • American continent (6%);
  • MENA (3%).

The main sales markets for pipes and tubes were:

  • EU (27%);
  • MENA (25%);
  • Ukraine (17%);
  • American continent (16%);
  • CIS (12%).

In January–July 2021, sales of railway products decreased by 19.4% to 96.4 thousand tons y-o-y. Sales of pipes and tubes grew by 11.3% to 306.2 thousand tons in 7M.

In 2020, Interpipe cut sales of railway products (wheels, tires, axles and wheel pairs) by 5.4% to 192.4 thousand tons against 2019.
