It is important to attract and motivate available employees, says Luca Zanotti

Staff shortages are a problem that Interpipe will solve by increasing efficiency. This was stated by Luca Zanotti, CEO of Ukrainian industrial company Interpipe, in an interview with Forbes Ukraine.

In addition, he said that even after the war ends, automation will play a major role, so the company must invest wisely in this area.

“But even more important is learning how to attract, retain, and motivate the people who are available. Because people with experience are the most productive,” noted Luca Zanotti.

Such steps are very difficult in wartime, especially in Nikopol.

“So we need the right approaches—management must be close to the people at the plant, setting an example, discussing problems, and finding solutions,” said the CEO of Interpipe.

He emphasized that it is also important to involve military veterans who have experience in logistics, mechanics, and electronics, as these people are very well trained.

“The reintegration of veterans into enterprises will play a decisive role,” he said.

It should be noted that Interpipe received a silver medal from the international rating agency EcoVadis for its high performance in the field of sustainable development. In particular, in the area of human rights, the company received high marks for working conditions, safety, career growth support, and staff training. The Patronage Service, which provides assistance to mobilized employees, also continues its work.
