Industrial production in Ukraine shrank by 4% in January

In January 2021, industrial production in Ukraine dropped by 4% against January last year, according to the State Statistics Service.

In January, production of steel and finished metal products dropped by 3.9% and mining of iron ores by 0.3% compared to January 2020.

Compared to December 2020, industrial production in January 2021 fell by 16.1%. At the same time, with adjustment for the effect of calendar days, the fall was less significant — 3.3%.

In January, production of steel and finished metal products dropped by 9.9% and mining of iron ores by 24.4% compared to December 2020.

In 2020, industrial production in Ukraine declined by 5.2% against 2019. Last year, production of steel and finished metal products decreased by 9.1%, whereas mining of iron ores by 2.4%.
