In 2020, industrial production in Ukraine decreased by 5.2% against 2019, according to the State Statistics Service.
In 2020, production of steel and finished metal products dropped by 9.1% and mining of iron ores by 2.4% against the previous year.
In December, industrial production rose, for the first time in 2020, by 4.8% against December 2019, while November showed a 0.3% decrease.
At the same time, with adjustment for the effect of calendar days, a fall in industrial production in December was less significant, 3.2% against 0.1% in November.
In December, production of steel and finished metal products grew by 4.3%, mining of iron ores by 20% against December 2019.
In 2019, Ukraine’s industrial production declined by 1.8% against 2018. Last year, production of steel and finished metal products decreased by 3.1%, whereas mining of iron ores remained unchanged.
